GAME TWO, HMMMM....

The Raptors are in town, Amir's former home,
Expect Lowry and Smart a lot in this poem!
Plus Crowder on DeRozan (a great name has he),
Cs playing signature D! AB FOR THREE!

Raptors a 10-2 run, Valanciunas can rebound.
With one game off, we'll see what Olynyk has found.
OLYNYK FOR THREE!  IT is tossed around the court.
Cs worry about his endurance in this physical sport!

Raptors all love Amir, Celtics and Boston do, too.
Game's all tied up to start Q2.
(Especially) Ref Tyler Ford calling silly fouls on the Cs.
Of course, we're thinking, "Do that on both ends--please!"

Sully grabbed the ball from Bennett--period. Done!
Cheesy fouls called on the Cs, that's not fun!
When the Cs move the ball, they can beat the D,
AB FOR THREE! (love Crowder)! IT FOR THREE!

Cs are struggling with their (fewer) throws free,
Thinking he was fouled, falling...SMART FOR THREE!
Familiar? Game's all tied up to end Q2.
Don't you love watching what Crowder can do?

Crowder, Zeller, Lee, Smart and AB,
Good D, but tough misses, to start Q3.
AMIR FOR THREE! Cs weathering a run.
Two games, Turner has gotten much done.

The Crowd is quiet, Cs can't find their O,
While watching the Raptors' three-point show.
Cs careless with the ball, crazy rotations by Brad--
Looking for any of the hot hands we once had!

That was ugly! Cs within 9 (phew) start Q4.
Good things happen with Jerebko on the floor.
Raptors' Ross always plays well against any C,
Finally a shot made by ET.

Cs trying to play D, Olynyk good shot, good shot--
Coast to coast--the only shooter we've got?
Raptors can't miss, Cs sloppy on the floor.
IT out til under 4 minutes left Q4 (?).

AB FOR THREE! Ridiculous call (Ford again) on AB,
Against DeRozan he played perfect D.
Cs' Bench outscored Raptors' but our Starters, too!
End: Cs within 10, one and one after two.

No "O" in HOME--eee, leaves us with Hm....
Cs need to do more shooting drills in the gym.

GAME WON!

WELCOME TO THE GAHDEN, the Sixers are here.
CELTICS HOORAH! Gonna be a great year!
RJ is sick; KO (vs Love) suspended for tonight,
Young is inactive, Mickey got his spot, seems right.

Starters: Smart, Crowder, Lee, Zeller and AB.
New (to us) Guys: Amir Johnson and David Lee.
Sixers' longest-tenured? Noel--no one over twenty-four.
IT addressed the crowd--than Rondo he said way more!

Cs Bigs running the floor! Sixers a 9-0 run,
CROWDER FOR THREE!  Crowder fast break! Fun!
Jahlil has moves (ugh), off the Bench 6th Man, IT.
AB great steal, hustle and flow (I said it) David Lee!

A shooting clinic by the Sixers, as expected by...no one;
Amir block! No assists Sixers! Cs within 5 end Q1.
No stopping IT when on the wing he does go--
Hoop! Then high-fiving the entire front row!

AMIR! Blocks! Cs great D! Energy! Fun!
SMART FOR THREE! Cs a 21-2 run.
CROWDER!
LOUDER!

Sully worked on Jahlil! Chemistry Amir and IT.
Sixers just one assist first half, unusual to see.
SMART FOR THREE (buzzer)! Cs up 11 end Q2.
Makes sense, Sully instead of Zeller to start half two.

Sixers an 8-0 run, but they have turnovers galore
Because the Cs are playing D all over the floor!
Both teams scoring woes. AMIR FOR THREE!
Steal, give and go, and go--IT, ET, AB.

IT FOR THREE (buzzer)! Cs up 12 start Q4.
Sully has the hot hand, plus still covering Okafor.
JEREBKO FOR THREE! Glad we SIGNed THE SWEDE!
Lee can pass! IT (back door cuts) has the speed.

Crazy D, long pass, SMART FOR THREE!
Not much of Zeller did we see.
Smart to Amir, reverse alley-oop?
Don't you love the energy and heart of our Group?

Mickey and Rozier making their debut,
Both looked like they knew just what to do!
CROWDER FOR THREE! The Cs opener has been WON--
67 points from our Bench. Cs by 17 when it was done!

NOTHING BUT....

First Cs Home Game! It's the Nets again,
The Nets are missing many of their men.
Cs--minor stuff--have no Crowder, Lee, IT,
Back in the lineup Smart, Rozier and AB.

Smart at Point Guard, Turner at the Three,
Amir streaking down the floor--fun to see!
Smart's worked on getting to the paint, the hoop--
Gotta love the spirit and effort of our Group!

Cs' Bigs can pass! Smart can, too,
Right to Zeller who knows what to do!
Rozier is fast, flying coast to coast,
It's his "Pitino D" we may like the most.

AB FOR THREE! THREE! Cs a 12-2 run,
Cs up 5 when Q1 was done!
Nets a 12-0 run snapped by ROZIER FOR THREE!
Jerebko! RJ! Olynyk's "Dirk Move" we see!

Cs on the floor are smiling! Oh what a sight,
Goes well with their hunger, their chemistry, their fight!
Cs need better D,
Cs up 1 to start Q3.

Nets' Robinson (rebounds),  Sloan, Jones did well here.
I love watching Smart--anyone--pass to Amir!
ROZIER FOR THREE! SMART FOR THREE!
Rozier steal, Sully hustle, crazy moves by ET!

Olynyk's aggressive, a chance for PJ3,
Cs up 7 at the end of Q3!
Great hands Jerebko, PJ3 FOR THREE!
Dahntay missed the hoop badly for all to see.

Wait! Flagrant One on Olynyk? Dahntay was on the rim,
Then fell hard to the floor--that's what happened to him.
Some minutes for Mickey, four-year deal as a C!
YOUNG FOR THREE! YOUNG FOR THREE!

It's Jerebko and the New Kids on the floor.
Brad's been playing with rookie rotations every Q4.
ROZIER FOR THREE! Cs WIN by 6! What a team!
Great heart, great spirit, all Living the Dream!

"WE ARE READY. ARE YOU?" ~ Celtics Ad

Spoiler Alert: The Streak is Three! All over 100 points

...@ The Brooklyn Nets, change up, no rhyme;
Observations. Didn't watch in real time:

Smart has strep, out. David Lee, Rozier and AB are resting.

Turner was interviewed by Abby Chin. I think he was so excited to play his first pre-season game, he was giggling. Gotta love his enthusiasm, and his game, which doesn't fit and yet it does.

RJ apparently has a great bball IQ, instincts and a three in progress--needs to bulk up

Zeller and Olynyk both have new arm muscles πŸ’ͺ

Sullinger got confused about "thinning out"--he did it to his hair on the sides and has a silly red-ish mohawk

Jarrett Jack Flagrant two for taking Jerebko out of the air, not even close to a play on the ball.
🎡🎢 Hit the road, Jack 🎢🎡

Young looks the same...young

RJ already beats out Young for minutes

LOVE CROWDER!
IT is...IT (with more facilitating than shooting, first week of practice)!

Crazy give and go and give and go Crowder/IT--IT! And one! Expect to see this all year long ;)

PACE AND SPACE

Liking Amir a lot--threes, hooks, outlet passes, heart, leadership!

LOVE CROWDER!

Cs missing some easy shots, playing great D!

End Q2: Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez a combined 0 for 4

LOVE CROWDER

ET, phone home--8 straight points, dominating Q3.

Refs are silly. It is pre-season for them, too.

KO consecutive THREES!

Q4: PACE AND SPACE

Hunter-Mickey, nice! Mickey sprinting.

Young made a shot, then great D! Finally....

Walden? Maybe.

Perry Jones--step-back rhythm

Cs, 9 Blocks!

About the Nets:
They make their free throws.
Larkin isn't bad.
Thad Young needs to be great. Pretty good tonight.
Same for Lopez and (hit the road) Jack.
Lopez's first offensive move came with 4 minutes left Q3 (wow).
Robinson (?) can rebound.
Joe Johnson is 34. Huh?
At one point Dahntay Jones had been in the League longer than all the other guys on the floor together!

Hollins is in for a long year.
(no jinx) We have their pick!

TWO BITS...FOUR BITS

Saw two quarters of our Celtics in Italy on TV,
Of the pre gioco di stagione--sounds better in Italian to me!
Olynyk, Jerebko and David Lee as kids grew late,
This would explain why their passing skills are great!

Unselfish play by Hunter, his first NBA block had he;
Evan Turner didn't play--he has a strained knee.
KO running the floor, heads up play by IT,
Cs up 28 at the end of Q3.

Cs pick-and-roll made Amir Johnson look good,
Teams don't use that old-school play--looks like we should!
Cs, the best Bench in the League; it includes Starters, too,
Every guy wants minutes--fighting for what each can do.

Seems every game we'll have Starters Galore--
Or several 6th Men--for Coach Brad what a chore!
Saw a minute of Smart, crazy on offense and D.
Rozier's learning, there's hope--clearly a rookie is he.

PACE AND SPACE is still Coach Brad's rallying cry--
The new guys (rookies plus) are all in: learning how and why!
Jordan Mickey is tough! I have trouble with his name,
I'll know he's not Mickey Jordan by the season's first game.

Rozier can rebound, never throws in the towel,
He flies up the court--gotta stop the offensive foul!
Sully's rebounding well, he just knows where to go--
Hope his conditioning's working--he does NOT seem slow.

Cs young guys will be in Maine, they'll learn to play Ball!
The Maine Red Claws will be great! They should win it all!
Cs were impressive (IT, AB, Smart, DLee....), won by 33.
Watching European crowds applaud is fun to see.

¡Hasta Pronto! Cs are off to Madrid--
Hope the Cs keep rolling like tonight they did!
