NO NO, TANK YOU

Sixers. No Rondo, he is taking a rest,
For Pressey's progress that may be best.
Celtics org. loves CJ--
Get him more than a 10-day!

Sixers, with rookie Carter-Williams, run the floor,
Cs must find some D! And who will score?
Cs great ball movement, an 8-0 run,
Sixers going right at Pressey most of Q1.

Sully, Olynyk to N'Orleans, Stars they are Rising,
Last C to go? Rondo--no one since is surprising.
Sully is hot despite a finger still sore,
Love Wallace's hustle both ends of the floor.

Great play by CJ! OLYNYK FOR THREE!
Olynyk's  running the floor and playing some D.
GREEN FOR THREE! Because of what HE has done:
13 points. Cs up 3 end of Q1!

Sixers slowed their pace to start Q2,
HUMP IS A BEAST! Love those blocks he can do.
BAYLESS FOR THREE! Off the basket came the lid!
Sully and Hump came to life to stop the skid!

Uptempo game, Cs within 6 end Q2,
Stop the pick and roll, play some D, all the Cs must do.
BAYLESS FOR THREE! 4th double-figure C,
Wallace hustle and strong BASS-kets we did see.

Cs within 3 to start Q4,
JOHNSON FOR THREE! Finally tied the score!
Pressey's first hoop, GREEN FOR THREE!
His first points since Q1--how can that be?

From the other corner, JOHNSON FOR THREE!
Making the best of his opportunity, also playing D!
Bass (blocks!) working hard, Green showing up, too.
Sixers lead the League in TOs, this game we do.

Bayless good energy, his moves are bold,
On him, Hump and Johnson I am sold!
Sixers numbers in the paint?
For the Cs good they ain't.

Sixers palmed the ball!! Violet, no call??
Heartbreak! Turner for 2, by 1 the Cs fall....

A NEW YORK STATE OF...MINED

Bayless is back but he won't start,
Knicks have MW Peace and K-Mart.
But Bargnani out for the year, no Amar'e we'll see.
AB's ankle is still sprained. Cs at MSG.

Rondo scored, on a Wallace length of the court pass.
Toughest job tonight, covering Melo is Bass.
Wallace a "Forceful Driver," so said Brad.
Knicks back door cuts for the lay ups they had.

Wallace good block, he's been energized of late,
12-0 run by the Knicks, Cs don't look great.
Knicks are making their threes, not lookin' for fun,
Not after the last MSG game, Cs by 41.

Cs are still having a problem with pick and roll D,
An Angry Melo (oxymoron?) is not good to see.
Bass is doing well at both ends of the floor,
Cs within 16 end of Q1 score.

JOHNSON FOR THREE!! He averages more points than days!
We need to give him a contract, gotta love how he plays.
Knicks went on a 14-2 run,
GREEN FOR THREE! Have the Cs just begun?

There is no communication among the Cs,
Contagious is the Missing Shots Disease.
Good hustle Wallace, Rondo, Sully--it's not enough,
Cs within 26 after a first half so tough.

Brad said breakdowns on D are...everywhere,
First post-first half report you could feel his despair.
Shumpert hurt his shoulder, reinjured is K-Mart.
Each C is playing like an individual part.

GREEN FOR THREE! That just got Melo going.
The (only) good news: a little Old Rondo is showing.
On a night when the Knicks so easily scored
The crowd was silent, they seemed bored.

JOHNSON FOR THREE! THREE! THREE!
HUMP IS A BEAST--all alone playing D.
Bayless, Vitor, Johnson made the Cs game less messy,
Note the late contributions of Olynyk and Pressey.

Brad was visibly angry, his Starters were not competing,
It was their attitude--not the Knicks--that was defeating.
Bright spots: Hump! Rondo looked better, tho miles to go.
Plus it didn't take long for Bayless' skills to show.

Gotta mention--the best name!--Vander Blue,
Doesn't matter that there wasn't much he could do.
The only good news when this game was done?
Cs' loss was only (hah) 26--less than 41!

GEE, WIZ!!

Cs are Rondo-less (rest), Bayless-less, and no AB,
Against the Wizards, at the Verizon Center, in D.C.
Since '07, on the road (10) this is the longest losing streak.
Pressey's the last Point Guard standing--minutes at a peak.

Pressey, Hump, Wallace, Sully and Green,
Maybe the only familiar faces that will be seen.
Best offensive rebounding combo in the NBA?
Sully and Hump (please don't trade him away)!

GREEN FOR THREE! He'll be playing Two Guard.
Tough job, Hump on Nene; Wallace to the hoop--hard!
In his old Hoya Home, GREEN FOR THREE!
PRESSEY FOR THREE! Johnson early we did see!

PRESSEY FOR THREE! Keeping Wall from the hoop,
Marcin Gortat's the hugest guy in either group!
JOHNSON FOR THREE!! Cs up 10 end Q1.
Pressey-Olynyk rookie combo, having some fun!

GREEN FOR THREE! PRESSEY FOR THREE! THREE!
Pressey shoots better when the hoop he can't see!
Cs announce the arrival of--best name--Vander Blue,
His first play, coast-to-coast example of what he can do!

Double digits, Green and Pressey! GREEN FOR THREE!!
Maybe at Two Guard is where Green should be.
61 point first half, Cs up 18 end Q2!
Wiz shoving the Cs! What are they trying to do?

Nene, Wall got hot.
Cs did not.
GREEN FOR THREE (deep)! Cs moving the ball.
But there's no way to stop coast-to-coast Wall.

Cs cooled off, still up...3 to start Q4.
SULLY FOR THREE (finally)! Cs sloppy on the floor.
The game is tied. What happened to our lead?
GREEN FOR THREE! More of this Green we need!

Wiz took a lead in a miserable way:
Martell Wester had a 4 point play.
Wall steal, give and go, Pressey alone--jump ball!
Somehow into the hands of Hump it did fall!

Green Season High, Career High shooting threes!
GREEN FOR THREE! Loose ball rumble! Timeout Cs....
OVERTIME,
More rhyme.

Wallace great steal! GREEN FOR THREE!
Five fouls on Wall and on Pressey.
Triple double for Wall. PRESSEY FOR THREE!
Fouled out of the game, IM-PRESSEY-IVE was he!

Improbable play: WALLACE COAST TO COAST!
Glorious way to treat our DC host.
Cs are stormin'
Streak is One--heartwarmin'!

"...THERE'S JUST SOME TEAMS YOU JUST DON'T LIKE." Rajon Rondo

Cs on the road, against the Wade-less (3 in a row) Heat,
Remind Green (before we trade him) this is a team we can beat!
New craze called "Lebron-ing"--flop and expect the call.
Not funny is that the Cs have to protect the ball.

Rondo, after two games, no sore knee--No Jinx.
Back to back--Wiz tomorrow? We'll see what Brad thinks.
Cs first touch a turnover, then a foul on AB,
By an angry Ray (ironic)--AB was shooting a three!

HUMP IS A BEAST! It's true every night.
Nickname Night for Miami--a ridiculous sight.
Heat went on a 10-0 run,
Plus they decided to play D just for fun.

Cs are Bayless-less tonight, a sprained right toe,
I forgot against the Cs it's The Chalmers/Bosh Show.
Beasley: three at the buzzer. Cs within 14 start Q2
Joel Anthony, Chris Johnson! See what they can do.

JOHNSON FOR THREE!  JOHNSON FOR THREE!
Ugh! Saw the bottom of his shoe--sprained right ankle AB.
GREEN FOR THREE! Cs run 13-2,
Lady Ref tonight--plus Violet? That's two.

Miami, their front line they are loadin',
7 feet, 273 lbs. is Greg Oden.
GREEN FOR THREE! Again at the buzzer--Bosh three,
Cs within 11 to start Q3.

Cs great ball movement. WALLACE FOR THREE!
Rondo to Sully--alley...oops, still scored did he!
Love the camaraderie among the Cs when they play,
Makes me hope some new guys--HUMP!!--will stay.

Bayless-less, AB-less, playing Big Guard is Green,
Some of his best facilitating we have seen.
LeBaby gets calls, and still he cries,
When Green, or anyone, by him flies.

Great hustle Johnson! Cs within 4 to start Q4,
Bass continues to quietly play D and score.
Cs consecutive TOs, can't do that with LeBaby,
If not him, then Beasley, Birdman--no maybe.

Johnson calm, hustle, to the hoop a hard drive,
He wants minutes--as a C to survive!
Pressey steal, to Hump! It's a tie! Then a tie!
LeBaby missed a loud dunk--did he cry?

Double Double Hump, Sully, in these Cs there's no quit.
Rondo's cumbersome brace, feels more stable with it.
Heat should have dominated, they won all the same,
But give the Cs credit for an effort so game.

NO DISNEY WORLD

Too much trade talk after the first game Rondo did enter,
Tonight is his game two--at the Amway Center.
Season's second half, want 48 full minutes of play--maybe?
Even standing next to Sully, looks like a Bigger...Big Baby.

SULLY FOR THREE! GREEN FOR THREE!
HUMP IS A BEAST! Blocking! Fun to see!
Bayless, scoring two guard (?), can go either left or right,
AB didn't have his usual Q1 tonight.

Olynyk and Pressey, rookies anxious to get it done,
Cs up 8 at the end of Q1.
Did you wonder where E'twaun Moore did go?
Brief three-point shooting skill he did show.

OLYNYK FOR THREE! Oladipo is so tough,
No matter how tall Olynyk, he is not enough!
Blocking, rebounding, even scoring,  is not the same,
When Hump is on the bench and not in the game.

Rondo to Green--giddy!--alley-oop!
Cap'n Rondo trying to run His Group!
When the first half was three minutes from done,
Magic, thirteen free throws, Cs (perimeter shooting) had none!

Q1 Cs were blocking, running, playing D, too,
Stopped: Magic  13-4 run, Cs within 7end Q2.
Though I hate that the Cs were clobbered in the paint,
Listening to CSN's Cedric Maxwell is my bigger complaint!

Both teams struggling in Q3,
Not because the other is playing great D.
Cs (very few TOs) went on a 13-0 run,
Green fouled hard while getting it done.

Bayless sprained his big toe, out for the night.
Double Double Hump shoots with that touch so light.
"Full Court Pressey"--turnover--Cs score!
Game slowed way down, Cs within 2 start Q4.

A flurry of TOs both ends of the floor,
Meantime, neither team is able to score.
Malcolm Xavier is Sully's middle name,
He honors MLK. Grateful to play this game.

Olynyk great steal, clear path foul is the call....
(Maxwell should not announce a game at all)!
Seventeen ties in this game through Q4,
Pressey is great at seeing the floor.

Not much from Bass, but he took a hard charge,
He knows first hand that Bigger Big Baby is large.
Speaking of whom, he was able to score--and score.
Cool: Rondo and Green conferred a lot in Q4!

Cs Go-To-Passer-Wallace to Green--alley-oop!
Loose ball! No one had it. Timeout Magic Group??
AB 10 seconds left, no foul call??
Clock violation, by 2 Cs fall....

Again, Cs hang tough,
(Just barely) Not enough!

RAPTor ATTENTION

STREAKING

Sitting on the bench, RONDO DRESSED LIKE A C!
88 minutes--a record?--in that League with a D?
Possum Mascot must be a joke; with a sideways hat, sounds chill--
Do we want one who plays dead and is known as road kill?  ;)

Starting line-up  Pressey is PG (plus no Bass), I'm afraid!
Sweet. Brad told Crawford he's proud of progress he made.
Said Wallace, "This season is a slap in the face."
Doesn't he know no team will buy him out of our place?

Pressey went flying into Lowry, who took a nasty fall,
Green with a sprained shoulder, can he handle the ball?
Took half of Q1 before AB made a shot,
Do you think without Crawford, Green might get hot?

VITOR FOR THREE! WALLACE FOR THREE!
Bruised right hand (he's ok), to the locker room AB.
Cs had no turnovers in Q1,
Raptors buzzer three, Cs within 2 when it was done.

Wallace heard his own criticism--did a dunk so loud,
His great hustle play--"Crash"--woke up this crowd.
Bogans "excused indefinitely," he'd gotten no playing time,
He felt playing MarShon, not him, an unforgivable crime.

With just two turnovers, Cs up 4 start Q3
Brad liked the ball movement he did see.
Sully's a battling rebounder, as he has shown tonight,
Doesn't get off the ground, he's just positioned right!

Sully a double double, Cs a 15-3 run,
At the free throw line Raptors not having fun.
Demar Darnell Derozan--love that name--
Added a crazy spin move to his good game.

Pressey--long passes--great at distributing the ball,
Cs aggressive offense, not all the shots did fall.
SULLY FOR THREE! He's a rebounding machine,
Good hustle Wallace, Bayless, Hump, Bass, Green!

GREEN FOR THREE! Wallace passed full court!
Sully at the buzzer! Love how he plays this sport!
Cs up 17 at the end of Q3,
Raptors 16-2 run (and more!), scary to see.

Sully a career high (season team high) in rebounding,
How Cs lost an 18 point lead is astounding!
Q4 what has happened to this aggressive Cs group??
Pressey--all the Cs!--stopped going to the hoop!

Sully'w first 20/20 night--first since KG first game a C.
Q4, of 20 field goal attempts Cs only made 3.
After a gut-wrenching battle, THE CELTICS HAVE WON!
There's a new streak in town--THE STREAK IS ONE!

WHAT'S (T)HAT??

AND IN OTHER BREAKING NEWS: in a sideways hat (??),
A new mascot, a possum (accepted spelling)! How 'bout that?
What about Lucky? I love that guy--
Gotta keep him! Right? He's our logo, that's why!

Bogans has been "excused," personal problems has he.
Hope he's ok and still a C.
So, tonight no JCrawford and no MBrooks,
Pressey (D League time?), Bayless will get good looks.

Joel Anthony? Maybe! Probably be a short timer.
Enough said, for now, by your Green-Mate rhymer....

ROCKET-TEARS

Cs survived their road trip, must feel great relief,
Morale is still solid, in their team they've belief!
Word is Rondo might return at the end of this week,
Versus the Lakers--our curiosity's at its peak.

Rockets first in the league in attempting threes.
Sully is starting--no Bass--with Humphries.
AB FOR THREE! FOR THREE! He can score!
Hump is (still) a beast! Cs are running the floor!

Speaking of Hump, loud dunk coast to coast,
Of the new guys we might trade, I'd miss him most.
Unlike last game, no 40 points Rockets Q1,
Cs up 8 when it was done!

Rockets were strong at the start of Q2,
Olynyk working the glass, needs to take his shot, too.
Hump with a block! Last two games he had six!
AB great Q1, Q2 Brad had him out of the mix.

Cs 2nd and 3rd free throws not til the end of Q2!
Cs within 9 when it was through.
Cs, sloppy, with turnovers to open Q3,
Where's the Jeff Green we need to see?

Brad imploring the guys to play with some fire,
It must be fatigue, not lack of desire.
The only C able and willing to score?
Of course, AB--from all over the floor!

Rockets successful, then cute, with the alley-oop,
Inspector Gadget Crawford trying to help his group.
Rockets made almost half their threes,
End Q3, within 19 are the Cs.

MarShon sighting--in the D League a good sport.
Welcome Bayless to his new home court!
Bass shooting well, master of the up fake,
Great D Olynyk, Bayless--plus shots they can make!!

Terrific offense by MarShon Brooks,
BAYLESS FOR THREE! Great open looks.
Cs went small with MarShon, Bayless, AB,
Cs more aggressive since that awful Q3.

Hack-a-Howard--around 50%--at the end of Q4,
Love watching Bayless (welcome HOME) add to our score!
Cs had considerable shooting woes,
Not Bayless and AB--their determination shows.

Tonight over 100 field goal attempts, not since '98,
If we shot (just?) 50% the game would've been great!
Cs unbelievable spirit,  playing with stamina and heart,
Still love that pulling together and not apart!

BLAZING A TRAIL

Last stop on this road trip, Portland Blazers tonight,
5 games, 7 nights,  3 time zones, 7500 miles flight.
Some underneath moves and spins by Green,
Bass trying to be a defense machine.

Cs started strong, they've improved in each game,
Pulling together, not apart, in losing there's no shame.
Cs doing well, with fierce points in the paint.
Crawford coast to coast--pretty he ain't!

Cs went on a 10-3 run,
Blazers and threes--every guy can take one.
Impressive Cs (70% shooting), up 5 start Q2,
Second chance points the Blazers are known to do.

Bayless looks poised, passes well, goes to the rim.
Wallace The Talker--getting some points out of him.
Our guards are doing better, finally able to score,
So many Cs playing well--who should be on the floor?

SULLY FOR THREE! Blazers a 13-3 run,
CRAWFORD FOR THREE! Blazers never led Half One.
Dominating in the paint, Cs up 2 start Q3,
Crawford happy with himself, great play by AB!

First lead by the Blazers, on a 17-8 run,
Cs can't rely on the three to get the job done.
Blazers are known for scoring in Q3,
Ball is starting to stick in the hands of each C.

SULLY FOR THREE! His second of the night,
Blazers get the 50/50 balls, it doesn't seem right.
Sully at the buzzer! Cs within 4 start Q4.
Good play Olynyk, love Bayless on the floor!

Questionable call after questionable call,
Wish the refs would let the guys play ball.
Blazers knocking down about half of their threes,
Still there's no quit in these Cs.

Blazers went on a 14-2 run,
No reward for the Cs for the work they've done.
Second chance points by the Blazers have hurt the Cs,
Brad imploring the guys, get the 50/50s--please!

Cs a 7-0 run, CRAWFORD FOR THREE!
Brad yelling, "Be solid." Crazy shots we did see.
AB is pressing, Sully a double double,
Missing their last 8 shots, Cs couldn't get out of trouble.

Almost half the season--the Cs are surviving,
One thing I like: there is more high-fiving!
They are finding their way, pulling together not apart;
Yes, they are blazing a trail, playing with heart.
